Will Hamilton
Director

Will studies War Studies at King’s College London and is active at the Adam Smith Institute’s The Next Generation. He has also worked as a consultant with London Care Partnership. Will has travelled extensively around the USA as well as at one point travelling to 20 European cities in just 30 days, with James and some other friends. Will likes to ski (with a union jack parachute), fences (with a mean left-handed jab), and practises Krav Maga (also with a mean left-hook). He hopes to climb Everest one day, though the others doubt he ever will.

Anton Howes

Anton is a PhD student in Public Policy at King’s College London. He holds a BA War Studies and History from King’s College London too. He is a research associate for the Adam Smith Institute, on the executive board for Students for Liberty, and on the founding executive board for European Students for Liberty. Anton has also appeared in a number of prominent media outlets, including the BBC , The Times and The Guardian, as well as featuring in The Telegraph, The Independent, The Vibe, The Australian, Liberal Conspiracy, Liberal Vision and ConservativeHome. He has fenced sabre for Great Britain at Under 17 and Under 20 level, as well as for England (Under 18) and Surrey. Anton also likes to climb, occasionally does Krav Maga and likes to sing (badly).

James Lawson

James works as a Management Consultant, helping clients maximise their commercial potential. He read Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University, where he was President of the Oxford University Conservative Association and was President of the Oxford Hayek Society. He is a member of the Mont Pelerin Society. James writes regularly for the Adam Smith Institute blog, is a research associate and member of The Next Generation committee. He has written for the Lion Rock Institute Best Practice Journal, The South China Morning Post, the Institute of Economic Affairs, ConservativeHome and The Telegraph. He has also appeared on the BBC, Sky News, and France TV. James is long past his sporting peak, but still enjoys amateur fencing (though he is worse than his colleagues). He instead much enjoys cooking, and the occasional gin.

Skye is a graduate of Queen Mary, University of London, where she read Politics. Whilst at university, she was Vice President of the Queen Mary Conservative Society and throughout her final year of study, she interned in Parliament for a Conservative MP. She likes running, statistics and earl grey tea.

 


Pete Spence

Operations Manager

Pete Spence is Programmes Officer at the Adam Smith Institute, responsible for overseeing the ASI’s events and student programmes. He holds a BSc in Economics from the University of York. Whilst at University he was Chairman of the York Freedom Society. Pete’s policy interests include agricultural policy, opposition of corporate welfare and internet freedom. Away from work, Pete enjoys weight training, live music and  travelling.

Gerard Pitt
Head of Campaigns

Gerard studies Politics Philosophy and Economics at the University of Manchester where he is Vice Chair of the Liberty League society though he is currently based in Washington DC in academic exchange. While not engaged in a constant but ultimately unsuccessful attempt to ‘break the mold’, he enjoys crass humour, wandering how everything works, quotations, trying to make nice sounds with his saxophone, traveling on an ambitious budget, hitchhiking, climbing and of course, advocating liberty.

Conference Manager

Hannah is a third year Politics and History student at the University of Manchester. She is particularly interested in the liberalisation of education and the disaster that is the European Union. In her spare time Hannah enjoys progressive rock, swimming and playing the guitar and saxophone.
